Methodist Rehabilitation is pleased to announce the appointment of Rev. Erin Hicks as chaplain, effective July 1. Hicks succeeds Rev. Maxine Bolden, who is transitioning to a new role within the Mississippi Conference of the United Methodist Church on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
As chaplain, Hicks will provide spiritual care and support to patients, families and staff while helping further Methodist Rehabilitation’s mission of restoring ability and hope to those recovering from disabling injuries and illnesses.
An ordained elder in the United Methodist Church, she holds a Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary and is a board-certified clinical chaplain. She also serves as chair of residents in ministry for the Mississippi Conference Board of Ordained Ministry.
“Rev. Hicks brings a deep commitment to pastoral care, a wealth of clinical chaplaincy experience and a passion for serving others during some of life’s most challenging moments,” said David McMillin, CEO of Methodist Rehabilitation.
Hicks said she is honored to join Methodist Rehabilitation and continue its longstanding commitment to compassionate, faith-based care.

The appointment marks the conclusion of Rev. Maxine Bolden’s service as chaplain at Methodist Rehabilitation. During her tenure, Bolden provided spiritual guidance and encouragement to countless patients, families and employees, becoming a trusted and beloved presence throughout the organization.
“Rev. Bolden has been a compassionate presence for our patients, families and staff, offering comfort, guidance and strength during both joyful and challenging times,” McMillin said. “We are grateful for her contributions and wish her all the best in this next chapter.”
