Our Physical Medicine Clinic is part of Methodist Rehabilitation, bringing our trusted standard of care to a convenient outpatient setting.

The Physical Medicine team manages a diverse patient population, addressing complex, long-term needs following inpatient rehabilitation as well as the evaluation and treatment of chronic and acute musculoskeletal pain.

Our Team

Our providers, Dr. Philip Blount, Dr. Michael Winkelmann, Ashley Jolly, FNP-BC, and Alice Messer DNP, FNP-BC, specialize in coordinating comprehensive care for outpatient rehabilitation needs. Dr. Blount and Dr. Winkelmann are both board-certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. As leaders in their field, our Physical Medicine team partner closely with other departments—including Orthopedic and Neurologic Therapy, the Seating & Wheeled Mobility Clinic, and Orthotics & Prosthetics—to ensure patients receive seamless, interdisciplinary care. Philip Blount

Philip Blount, M.D.

is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and addresses the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of disorders of the neuro-musculoskeletal system that may produce temporary or permanent impairment. Dr. Blount’s practice is unique in that he provides expertise in the functioning of the whole patient in an individualized manner, as compared with a focus on an organ system or systems.
Michael Winkelmann, MD

Michael Winkelmann, M.D.

is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and is trained in internal medicine, physical medicine, and rehabilitation. The combination of these fields offers him depth inside the patients’ problems and expertise in tending to their needs. Aside from the practice of physical medicine and rehabilitation, Dr. Winkelmann addresses spine intervention, spasticity control, migraine headaches, Botox injections, and electric diagnosis.
Ashley Jolly NP

Ashley Jolly, FNP-BC

is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with more than 20 years of nursing experience. She is a graduate from Mississippi Collage and the Mississippi University for Women. At our Physical Medicine Clinic, she evaluates new patients, coordinates follow-up care, and helps develop individualized treatment plans. Ashley also works closely with patients following Botox treatment and serves as a key coordinator for amputee care.
Alice Messer NP

Alice Messer DNP, FNP-BC

has more than three decades of nursing and physical medicine experience, including over 20 years as a family nurse practitioner. Throughout her career, she has specialized in musculoskeletal disorders, chronic pain management, and rehabilitation medicine. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Mississippi University for Women and has been a recognized leader in patient care, education, and advocacy across Mississippi.
