Methodist Rehabilitation is pleased to welcome Dr. Kai Yan Cheng to our team. Dr. Cheng will provide primary care services in our Outpatient Hospital Clinic, working closely with our rehabilitation providers to support patients throughout their recovery and transition from inpatient rehabilitation to life at home.
Dr. Cheng is a board-certified internal medicine physician with nearly two decades of clinical experience caring for active-duty service members, veterans, dependents, and civilian patients. Prior to joining Methodist Rehabilitation, he served in the United States Navy in a variety of clinical and leadership roles, including Department Head of Internal Medicine Specialty Clinics at U.S. Naval Hospital Yokosuka in Japan and Director of Medical Services aboard the USS Ronald Reagan.
Throughout his career, Dr. Cheng has provided comprehensive patient care while leading multidisciplinary healthcare teams and supporting initiatives focused on quality and patient care.
Dr. Cheng earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
