Biography

Dobrivoje “Boba” Stokic, M.D., D.Sc., is Vice President of Research and Innovation and a senior scientist at MRC. Dr. Stokic both a medical degree and a doctoral degree from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade, Serbia, followed by residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, From 1991 to 1997, he was a fellow and research associate in the Division of Restorative Neurology & Human Neurobiology at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas. Dr. Stokic joined MRC in 1997 to establish a research program. He has published more than 120 peer-reviewed articles and has been awarded federal, state, and private grants. Dr. Stokic also serves as an affiliate professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and as editor-in-chief for the International Journal of Rehabilitation Research. His research interest is in the recovery of motor function after stroke, spinal cord injury, and brain injury.
