Biography
Gary Armstrong serves as President and Chief Financial Officer of Methodist Rehabilitation Center, bringing nearly five decades of leadership, vision, and operational expertise to the organization. Since joining MRC in 1977 as Director of Information Services, Armstrong has held a series of executive roles, including Chief Information Officer, Vice President, Controller, Executive Vice President of Finance & Information, and Executive Vice President of Finance & Operations, before assuming his current position in 2022.
Throughout his career, Gary has played a pivotal role in expanding MRC’s services, strengthening its financial foundation, and advancing rehabilitative care across Mississippi.
He serves on the national board of the American Medical Rehabilitation Providers Association (AMRPA) and as President of the FAIR Fund, advocating for equitable access to inpatient rehabilitation. In 2025, he was honored with AMRPA’s National Leadership Excellence Award in recognition of his exceptional contributions to the field of medical rehabilitation.
A graduate of Mississippi State University with a degree in Business Statistics and Computer Technology, Armstrong is widely respected for his integrity, strategic insight, and steadfast dedication to both patients and staff. Under his guidance, MRC continues to innovate, grow, and fulfill its mission of restoring ability and hope.
