Biography

Dr. Cheng provides primary care services in our Outpatient Hospital Clinic, collaborating closely with our rehabilitation providers to ensure the best transition from inpatient rehabilitation to life at home.

Dr. Cheng is a board-certified internal medicine physician with almost two decades of clinical experience caring for active-duty service members, veterans, dependents, and civilian patients. Before joining Methodist Rehabilitation, he served in the United States Navy in a variety of clinical and leadership roles, including Department Head of Internal Medicine Specialty Clinics at U.S. Naval Hospital Yokosuka in Japan and Director of Medical Services aboard the USS Ronald Reagan. Throughout his career, he has provided comprehensive patient care while leading multidisciplinary healthcare teams and supporting quality improvement initiatives.

Dr. Cheng earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Texas College ofOsteopathic Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency at the National NavalMedical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
